Karan Johar on Sridevi: I have wanted to do a movie with her for the longest time

Actress Sridevi was one of Bollywood’s first female superstars and twenty-five years ago the actress had acted in ‘Gumrah’ with Karan Johar’s Dharma production.The movie saw her opposite Sanjay Dutt. There were also reports that she was the cast of ‘Shiddat’ along with Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan. Karan Johar was keen to make a film with the legendary actress.


The filmmaker, who has worked with the who’s who of the industry, expressed a dream of directing a film with Sridevi as the lead someday. But the filmmaker will be launching her daughter Janhvi in ‘Dhadak’, which also stars Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter.


Recently, the filmmaker had said, “It has to be Sridevi, for sure! I have wanted to do a movie with her for the longest time. I think she’s magic on screen. There’s a certain aura about her that nobody else can replicate. I have lived with this dream for years.”


Apparently, Karan Johar had discussed a project with Sridevi and she had also given her nod to it. He had told earlier in an interview, “I wish to make a film with her, which I want to direct.”
