Aamir Khan's last outing at the Box Office, 'Dangal', was not only a cinematic experience but also inspiring. A film based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat, created quite a storm at the worldwide Box Office. The film spoke about a father's determination to train his daughters so as to get the country worldwide honour and acclaim through the sport.

However, his next 'Secret Superstar' is starkly different from the role he played in 'Dangal'. He plays a rather cheeky, blonde-haired singer whose dialogues will surely make a few heads turn. The film also features Zaira Wasim, and Aamir's character is already garnering attention.

While Aamir is happily promoting the film, wife Kiran Rao recently revealed that she didn't want the actor to do the film. She said, "I thought Aamir wouldn't be the right fit. Actually, I was among those who dissuaded Aamir from taking up this character. I didn't want him to do the role as it's a creepy character. (He's) someone you don't want to hang out alone in the room with. I told him that people will find it weird when they see him in this avatar, as he recently played a father in 'Dangal'."

When the offer first came to Aamir, the actor said that he too was reluctant as he thought he didn't fit the role. "When Advait Chandan (director) approached me, I told him that I couldn't see myself doing this role. But, I agreed to do a screen test. It's only when I did the screen test that I realised I was enjoying (playing the character). It was an unusual character and so, it was challenging for me to make it believable," said Aamir.

However, Kiran also said that she was proved wrong after she watched the screen test. "When we saw the screen test, we burst out laughing. We were convinced that he is the perfect choice," concluded Kiran.
