Kriti Sanon: I know I was very raw initially

The ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ actress Kriti Sanon has been in the industry for four years. With four films, the actress recalls her journey and talks about the rejections she got. She also said that it depends on people how they shape up their career in the industry.


When asked if she has faced rejection during the beginning of her career in Bollywood, “Obviously, when you just start [your career] and dream of becoming an actor, you meet [new] people and keep giving auditions. There are times when you don’t get selected or lose out on a role at the last minute.”


She shared a film experience, Kriti said, “I remember there was this film, which I really wanted to do, though I can’t name it. The casting team and makers were looking for a fresh face for the longest time, and when the film eventually came out, they took someone who was already established. So, these things happen very often and it’s also disheartening. Also, I know I was very raw initially. There were times when I gave an audition and I knew that I didn’t do well. But, the more I kept trying and practising, I improved.”


Kriti concluded by saying, “While waiting for a role, you continue to feel like it’s going to happen but it doesn’t. I feel everything happens for good. Stuff that has not happened, there’s also a reason behind it, and that way, I am a very positive person. After auditions, when the result comes out and I don’t get selected, I do feel disheartened and low for a while, but then I just get up the next morning and try again and that’s what matters.”


Kriti Sanon started her film career with ‘Heropanti’ and later did films such as ‘Dilwale’, ‘Raabta’ and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’.
