Lipstick Under My Burkha trailer: A massive dig at the CBFC?

The much-awaited trailer of probably the most controversial movie of the year, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, is finally out. Bold, sassy and rebellious, the trailer starts off by flashing headlines the movie made when it became the talk of the town after the CBFC denied certification to the film citing 'explicit' content and for being 'lady oriented.'

In fact, it seems that the makers have cleverly leveraged all the opposition they faced from the CBFC and used it to make sure that the audience gets pulled to the theatres by sheer curiosity.The movie revolves around the lives of four women, portrayed by Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Plabita Borthakur and Aahana Kumra, who rebel and escape their caged lives.

Helmed by Alankrita Shrivastava, the movie has won several awards across the globe and will hit the theatres on 21st July.
