Madhuri Dixit-Nene is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actresses in the industry. After so many years of being in front of the camera, the dhak-dhak girl of Bollywood has turned producer with a slice-of-life Marathi film. Her film is titled '15th August'. “The film will make you realise that freedom is a gift only you can give yourself,” Madhuri said to a leading entertainment media portal. She also added that the film's unit is packed with some of the most talented artistes from both Hindi and Marathi film industries.

Reportedly, the film will be shot entirely in Mumbai from start to end. “After being in front of the camera for more than thirty years, it feels like a privilege to be donning the producer’s hat for the first time. I wholeheartedly believe in our talented director, Swapnaneel Jayakar, ('Tendulkar Not Out') who is now leading an equally talented cast. Mrunmayee and Rahul are both fantastic actors,” Madhuri said. “While one of the things on my bucket list was to do a Marathi film, I am finally checking off being a producer. There’s a lot more we have planned and I hope to create a lot more big-screen magic,” Madhuri concluded. Stay tuned for more updates.
