The Rani Mukerji starrer 'Mardaani 2' has kept the audience gripped and how! The storyline of which is inspired by some shocking true crimes that took place against women by juveniles. This thriller is going to see Rani in a race against time to capture a brutal serial rapist who targets women systematically. The second installment of this film has made the mass have conversations about the threat that poses on young girls across the country.

The makers of the film wanted to keep away from any kind of gimmicky marketing idea. The movie is going to affect social change and so, the makers have scrapped the idea of shooting a promotional music video and even refused to put a song in the film. The reason of which is that they want to deliver the message of the film through its story and wishes to accentuate the viewing experience of the ass by delivering a very powerful thriller with no distractions like music videos and songs. According to them, it would be very authentic and a genuine way to communicate about the serious issues that happen in India which all of us should sit up and take note of.

Rani confirmed the same and said, “Mardaani is an entertaining thriller but at its core, it is seeking to give a strong social message on the rise of violent crimes on women that are being committed by juveniles in our country. We wanted to protect the sanctity of our message and not do any marketing gimmicks like shoot a promotional song just to get more conversation and more eyeballs. We felt this would be counter-productive to what we wanted to achieve.”

She even added, “When at one hand we are trying to deliver a powerful message, we couldn’t have recorded and shot a music video because that would have diluted the intent of the film. We were ok to not fall into the trap of conventional beliefs and chose to stay away from all such routes of marketing to ensure that we preserve the authenticity of our film. This was of maximum priority for us and I’m glad that we stuck to our beliefs.”

Rani will be portraying the role of a fearless and committed Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in the movie. She very much delivered a brilliant performance in the first part of the franchise and now we're all waiting on the second part of the same. 'Mardaani 2' is produced by Aditya Chopra and will be Rani's next release after the global blockbuster, 'Hichki' which made 250 crores worldwide. 'Mardaani 2' will be out in theaters on the 13th of December.
