Members of a local organisation stall the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' claiming that the director is distorting historical facts
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati', which is being shot in Jaipur, faced protest by a local organisation, Karni Sena. As per a report by NDTV, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali allegedly got slapped by the local activists during the Jaipur shoot schedule. The activists barged in on the sets, created ruckus and vandalised the Jaigarh Fort, claiming that the filmmaker is distorting the historical facts.

Talking about the same, Vikram Singh, a Karni Sena activist said, "The film is presenting wrong facts about 'Padmavati'. Our basic protest is about distortion of historic facts which will not be tolerated." The district president of Karni sena Narayan Singh said, "We had warned the filmmaker against presenting wrong facts. When we came to know about the shooting, we gathered there and protested." The protesters said that they were protesting against the alleged love scenes, which were being filmed between Deepika and Ranveer.

While there has been no clarification from the producer's end, the Karni Sena activists have demanded that SLB delete any scene which distorts the historical accuracy of the events in any manner.
