Shami posted some pictures of him with his family on Facebook but little did he know that those pictures would lead to a social media wave.
In the pictures, Shami is seen posing with his daughter and wife, who is wearing a wine red sleeveless gown. Minutes after the picture was up, people started demeaning him saying that he should know that he is a Muslim and that this kind of dressing is inappropriate according to his religion.
Some even asked the fast bowler to make her wife wear a hijab and questioned him if he even remembers that he follows Islam. People asked him if he doesn’t feel ashamed of the fact that his wife is wearing a deep necked outfit and that he doesn’t know how a woman should present herself.
Unable to tolerate this unjust reaction, Farhan Akhtar, Javed Akhtar and cricketer Mohammad Kaif decided to show their support towards Shami. They took to their Twitter handles and tweeted:
