Mohit Suri opens up about a directing 'Aashiqui 3'
Post the success of 'Aashiqui 2' the makers went on to state that there was a possibility of 'Aashiqui 3'. It is since then that there have been speculations regarding the cast and storyline of the film. The film was first rumoured to star Hrithik Roshan in the lead, there were further rumours about Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra signing on to do the film.

However, there was no further confirmation on the same. 'Aashiqui 2' is directed by Mohit Suri, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film 'Half Girlfriend'. During the promotions of the film, Mohit Suri caught up with PTI and spoke about directing 'Aashiqui 3'.

Mohit said, "It's a loved franchise but it should come back for the right reason, which is the script. I would've made 'Aashiqui 2' even if it would've been called 'RJ ki ek love story'. I wanted to make the film badly and tell the story."

He further added, "You shouldn't make a film because you want to capitalise on a title. You can get the film to the audience but you can't make them like it. I can lose everything I built with 'Aashiqui 2' by making a bad 'Aashiqui 3'."

Mohit's directorial 'Half Girlfriend' starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is all set to hit theatres on May 19.
