Renowned theatre and film personality, Nana Patekar has now donned the hat of a real-life hero instead of the ones he played on the big screen. The actor has come together with a fellow Marathi actor Makrand Anaspure and established a foundation called Naam Foundation. The deplorable conditions of the farmer community have spurred Nana to start the foundation in order to aid these farmers with whatever they need thus hoping to eventually cut down the rate of farmer suicides in the country.

We have often heard inspiring stories of celebrities coming forward to help those in need, but after donating around ninety percent of his earnings to this cause, Nana definitely makes a first. The actor has always felt that the farmers in the state should get a better deal and hence he started the Naam Foundation, a non-governmental foundation that works for the betterment of the farmers in the drought-prone areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Nana as also Makarand are urging people to come ahead and help salvage this grappling situation of farmers. Today, we salute this man for his noble work and hope to see more follow his footsteps in the future.
