Nandita Das to end her seven-year marriage with husband Subodh Maskara

2016 ended on a rather sad note - it was the year of break-ups in Bollywood. From Malaika Arora-Arbaaz Khan, Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Babani to several other alleged B-town couples, 2016 saw many of them head for splitsville. Well, if you thought 2017 is going to be any different, the year starts with a yet another Bollywood couple heading for a separation.

Nandita Das and husband Subodh Maskara have decided to part ways after seven years of matrimony. Confirming about the same to a leading daily, Nandita said, "Yes, it is true. Subodh and I have decided to separate. Thankfully, it is very amicable. Our son is our foremost priority and as parents of a delightful and sensitive child, we request that his and our privacy be respected. There's nothing to hide and there's nothing more to be said."

Nandita further added, "Separation is never easy, more so if you have a child. For us, our son is our main concern and we are committed to ensuring his well-being."

The rumours of their divorce made rounds during the mid-2016, but Subodh then refuted these rumours. The couple at that point were working on making their marriage a success, but as they separate, they both maintain that their son is a priority.
