Here’s what the ‘Raees’ star has to say about nepotism in the Indian film industry

Recently, Kangana Ranaut spoke about nepotism in the industry and even called filmmaker Karan Johar the ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’ and labelled him as the ‘movie-mafia’ on his chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’. This further escalated and became a huge controversy, with various Bollywood actors putting forth their opinions on the same. While some admitted that they too have faced nepotism, others said it’s a myth.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is one of the finest and most versatile actors in the Indian film industry, was recently asked about it in an interview with a leading tabloid. “I don’t think nepotism exists in Bollywood, otherwise I could not have been in this position today,” said the ‘Raees’ star. In spite of being a master of his craft, it took him a very long time to establish his position in the industry. To this, he added, “Good work and talent may take the time to get recognised but always earns respect.”

On the work front, Nawazuddin will next be seen in Sabbir Khan’s ‘Munna Michael’ alongside Tiger Shroff and debutant Nidhhi Agerwal, which will hit the theatres on 7th July.
