Renowned columnist, Shobhaa De, recently took to her Twitter handle and mocked Madhya Pradesh policeman Daulatram Jogawat over his obesity. Taking it up as his responsibility, Jogawat’s boss recently confirmed that he would make sure that Jogawat undergoes the treatment he needs.

Jogawat, who weighs 180 kilograms due to a medical condition, will be treated by the renowned obesity surgeon Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala. He’s the same doctor who is treating Eman Ahmed, who weighs 500 kilograms and is at present, the world’s heaviest person. According to reports, Jogawat will be treated in Saifee Hospital, the same hospital in which Eman has been admitted under the close guidance of Dr. Lakdawala.

Talking about how all this should have happened a lot sooner, Shobhaa De said, “The cop should have received help much sooner. It is wonderful that Dr. Lakdawala is doing a great service.”

Confirming the news of the treatment, Madhya Pradesh Superintendent of Police, Manoj Kumar Singh, said that Jogawat has already reached Mumbai with his son where the procedures shall soon begin. “I thank the media which took up the issue after the tweet by Shobhaa De. Hopefully, I will get a better life,” Jogawat told PTI before leaving for Mumbai.
