Oscar 2017: It is 'Moonlight' and not 'La La Land' that won the Oscar for the best picture
Oscars is one of the biggest celebrations of cinema in the world. While utmost care is taken to ensure that things move smoothly, sometimes errors just happen. One such blunder that took place during the 89th Academy Awards was when the presenter Faye Dunaway erroneously announced 'La La Land' as the winner for the best picture.

During the presentation ceremony, Faye Dunaway announced that it was 'La La Land', who had won the award for the Best Picture, while her co-presenter, Warren Beatty studied the card at length. However, it was when the team of 'La La Land', took to stage to thank everyone for their efforts that the error was caught.

It was 'La La Land' producer Jordan Horowitz, who caught the mistake and cut the celebrations midway to rectify the error. However, when no one seemed to be able to grasp the situation, he showed the card to the camera, which clearly indicated "Moonlight" had won.

Taking control of the situation, Horowitz said, "This is not a joke, 'Moonlight' has won best picture. 'Moonlight.' Best picture." The producer further added, "I'm going to be really proud to hand this to my friends from 'Moonlight.'"

Making light of the situation host for the evening, Jimmy Kimmel joked that Warren (presenter) pulled off a Steve Harvey. Concluding the evening, Jimmy apologised for the error and joked that this is probably the last time that he is hosting the Oscars!
