Celebrated designer Wendell Rodricks lost his life at his Colvale residence in Goa on Wednesday at the age of 59. Reports has it that the Padma Shri Award winner passed away due to a heart attack. He was a well known designer for his contribution towards many social causes and was also the one to share a good bond with several Bollywood celebrities.

Many B-town actors offered their heartfelt condolences over social media including Malaika Arora, Arjun Rampal, Richa Chadha and others.

Wendell was recently working on his life's dream project, the Moda Goa Museum which he wanted to dedicate to the history of Goan costumes and Goan fashion artifacts. It was in 2016 when he and his husband Jerome Marrel moved to a smaller house in Goa's Colvale so that Wendell's original Goa home could be converted into the museum.

Over the years, Wendell made his Goan heritage part of his work and in a 2018 interview with a leading daily, he has said, "I have been collecting Goan costumes for 17 years. It's been my dream to leave a Goan Costume Museum as a legacy for my home state."

The designer was known for his minimal choice in fashion and was also a vocal activist of gay rights and environmental issues.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
