Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' hit a roadblock when their shooting in Jaipur was interrupted by a political group Karni Sena. The political group protested against the makers of 'Padmavati' as according to them SLB distorting historical facts. The 'Padmavati' row happened because there were reports that suggested SLB was planning a dream sequence between Deepika Padukone (Padmavati) and Ranveer Singh (Allaudin Khilji).
The filmmaker later even refuted the rumours calling it a wishful thinking of Ranveer-Deepika fans. The reports that suggested the dream sequence had also mentioned that the filmmaker was 'maybe' planning a dream sequence. However, with protests from various different groups, SLB again finds himself in a fix. (Also Read: Fresh trouble for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati')
A source close to the development of the film spoke to DNA, and said, "There is no distortion of historical facts. SLB has two reputed historians who consult on the script. He has also acquired rights of a few relevant books and he wants to tell the story of Rani Padmavati’s courage and fight for her honour. It is a film that will make the world appreciate the true Rajput sentiments."
