On Wednesday Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ was cleared to release in Pakistan. After all the protest and other threats against the epic drama film it has got a clearance to release, finally a good sign of hope for ‘Padmaavat’. The film has been given a ‘U’ certificate.

Mobashir Hasan said, “Padmaavat has been declared fit for public exhibition in the cinema houses without any excision by Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC.” When he has asked about the anxiety over the movie, of the negative portrayal of Alauddin Khilji, Hasan said, “CBFC isn’t biased in arts, creativity, and healthy entertainment.”

The CBFC co-opted Professor Waqar Ali Shah, Chairman, Department of History, Quaid-e-Azam University as per rules, he said, “A co-opted member has no voting rights. They are for expert opinion,”

People in Pakistan feel that the film should get a very strong response during its release worldwide because in India the film is facing a lot of issues, like a fringe group announced a bounty on her nose, earlier they wanted her head and there were death threats also given to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone.

‘Padmaavat’ has been released worldwide today and it stars Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone.
