Pooja Bhatt on ‘Sadak 2’ : Sanjay Dutt in talks, Alia not in cast

Sanjay Dutt was spotted at Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt’s office in Khar, and it is since then that the rumours about ‘Sadak 2’ have been doing rounds. Reports suggested that Alia Bhatt will be seen playing Sanjay and Pooja Bhatt’s daughter in the film.

While Sanjay in an interview had confirmed that he is in talks for ‘Sadak 2’, there was no confirmation on the female lead of the film. Pooja too in an interview with a leading daily revealed, “Besides enjoying each other’s candidness, we are exploring the possibilities of a sequel to Sadak. One thing we are all clear about though — that we won’t attempt it until we believe we can live up to the first… Sadak is a classic and a favourite of millions of people. If we revisit the film, we need to be sure why. But just being in the same room together takes us back to such a precious time from all of our lives.”

While it is known that Mahesh Bhatt is writing the script, there were reports that ‘Begum Jaan’ director Srijit Mukherjee will helm the film. To this Pooja added, “It’s too early to speak about the script and casting. All I can say is that Bhattsaab is writing the sequel and has to be the creative backbone with regards to the storytelling.”

When the leading daily further informed that there is a buzz ‘Sadak 2’ is a remake of a Tamil film ‘Mahanandi’ and that Alia too will be a part of the film. To this Pooja asserted, “There is no buzz in that buzz, unfortunately!”
