Veteran actor Prem Chopra feels that earlier they didn’t have the technical finesse in the films, which is much evident today. The actor who has played villainous roles in many films in the 70s and 80s, he has worked in 380 films in his career span of six decades. The actor but still feels that during those days films were made with utmost dedication, passion, and patience.

Prem Chopra said, “In those days, no doubt we didn’t have the technical finesse that we have now, but films were made with total dedication, concentration, passion, and patience. They won’t be made in one go and most of the times, one film will be made in a time span of one of two years and the results would be fabulous in terms of some evergreen films.”

“Filmmakers today are not able to make films of the same kind in spite of technology. In the past, they usually concentrated on a lot on subject, story, and content. They’ll have one schedule and then for next schedule, they will sit down again writers, directors and actors and discuss things, because they knew that films couldn’t be made in isolation and it’s a group activity. Everybody had something to suggest.”

Prem Chopra said that the content and passion of making a film is missing now, “Though we were aware of the characters that we were playing but we didn’t have any bound scripts, which they give now. The content, story, and passion are missing nowadays. They make films fast and they go away fast. That’s why we no longer have films which run for 25 weeks or so. Even the so-called successful films would run for three or a maximum of four weeks.”
