Priyanka Chopra to do Kalpana Chawla’s biopic next!

Priyanka Chopra wrapped up 'Quantico' season 2 shoot, and returned to Mumbai on Saturday. The actress will soon kick-start the promotions of her Hollywood debut, 'Baywatch' in India. The actress has been missing from Bollywood as she was keeping busy with her Hollywood projects.

While there have been reports that Priyanka is considering Bollywood films, there is no confirmation on the films she has given her nod for. However, a leading tabloid reports that the actress' next is a biopic on astronaut Kalpana Chawla.

Last year a film based on a life of an astronaut was announced by Viacom 18. Talking to the leading tabloid, a source said, "The film will be mounted on an international scale. A new production company, Getway, is likely to produce the biopic."

Another source confirmed the news and said that Priyanka's team has been working on the project for almost a year, and that "the script has also been locked."

Debutante director, Priya Mishra confirmed the news and said, "I have been working on it for the past seven years. A new production banner will back the project." She further added, "I was last heading a TV channel creatively and post 2011, quit to pursue filmmaking. This is one of the two scripts that I have written." As a part of research, Priya has also met Kalpana's parents several times.
