Former Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid is an exceptional human being. He is one cricketer who is looked up for good qualities that go beyond the game. He has been the subject of immense praise from his fraternity, teammates and fellow cricketers who have said some exemplary words about his dedication, determination, humbleness, and gentle-manliness. Although he has retired from the field for quite some time now, yet he never fails to be an inspiration for everyone, teaching them to never forget their roots, no matter how much fame or public admiration you get. His childhood club was in a bad situation and needed a victory in order to not get relegated to a lower division. Head coach of the team requested RD to play for them and guess what, he accepted the offer, played the match and the club got the required points to remain in the same division. I am not sure of the exact figure, but RD scored a century. There were just around 15 to 20 spectators on the ground. The venue was HAL sports club. He never made any fuss about playing for a team that is so out of his league, he never dragged media attention, he never complained about anything not just during this game, but in his entire career.”
He is a gem of a person. The cricketer used to chat on Skype with a cancer patient, who was one of his biggest fans; he even apologized for being able to meet him personally.
