Rajinikanth and Mammootty to reunite for 'Kaala Karikaalan'?

Rajinikanth’s is currently shooting for Pa Ranjith's 'Kaala Karikaalan' in Mumbai. When the first look from the movie was released, not only did '#Kaala' start trending but it also got the audience talking about the easter eggs.
One of the shots that got people talking was the one where Rajinikanth is sitting on a jeep that has the number plate that reads 'BR-1956'. The number plate, 'BR-1956' symbolises BR Ambedkar and the year he died and this hint comes amidst the rumours that the movie will feature some aspects of Ambedkar’s life.
If the buzz is to be believed, the makers have approached Mammootty to play the role of Ambedkar in the film. If this news turns out to be true, Rajinikanth and Mammootty will be seen sharing the screen together after Mani Ratnam’s 'Thalapathi' in 1991.
