Director Rajkumar Hirani breaks his silence on the reports of Sanjay Dutt’s biopic being postponed

With Ranbir Kapoor stepping into Sanjay Dutt’s shoes for his role in the actor’s biopic, the untitled next has aroused quite a curiosity amongst the masses as to how will the film turn out to be. Ranbir’s look from the film too surfaced on the internet and created a buzz as the actor perfectly got into Sanjay’s many looks.

While the makers first decided to release the film during Christmas this year, so as to avoid a clash with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, the film is now slated to release in March 2018. However, recently there were reports that suggested that the makers are contemplating on a postponing the film further.

The reports of constant delays didn’t go down well with helmer Rajkumar Hirani, talking to a leading online portal he denied any such development. Rajkumar Hirani said, “All these are baseless rumours. The film will release as per schedule in March 2018.”

In an earlier interview, divulging details about the film, Hirani revealed, “It’s not a film about guns, drugs and the underworld. It’s a feel-good film about a father-son relationship with Paresh Rawal playing Sunil Dutt and Ranbir as Sanju… A buddy film with Sanju’s many friends adding up to one from the US, played by Vicky Kaushal.”

He further added, “The audience will get to know the real Sanjay Dutt. There is a certain image about him because of the controversies and his imprisonment. Whatever we have shown in the film is an honest portrayal.”

“There is no exaggeration nor is it a propaganda film. It is not like just because we are making a film, we have to show him in a very positive light,” concluded the filmmaker.
