Recently, there were reports that Bollywood actor Govinda is quite miffed with the makers of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ for using his still from the movie for publicity, even though he is not a part of the film. Apparently the actor had unceremoniously walked out of the movie after he felt that his role wasn’t progressing as was promised to him by Anurag Basu.

At a recent promotional event for the movie, Ranbir opened up about the whole incident and took the blame for cutting Govinda’s part from the script. “Unfortunately, the entire track has been chopped off; it is our fault, Basu and mine. We had started this film prematurely, without a complete script. The character had completely changed, and the film was taking so long. It is very irresponsible, and very unfair to cast a great legend like Govinda and not do justice to his role. We are apologetic, but it is the best thing for the film so we had to cut that track out.”

After Govinda opted out, the makers got Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee to play Ranbir's father, who played 'Bob', the assassin, in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Kahaani'.
