CBFC suggested the makers of 'Rangoon' to replace cuss words, and not use derogatory words against women
Vishal Bhardwaj's ambitious take on 'Casablanca' is all set to hit theatres on February 24. The film is set against a backdrop of the Independence era and is titled 'Rangoon'. Starring Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan, and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles, 'Rangoon' is the story of a love triangle between the three actors. Kangana will play Julia an actress from the 1940s, while Saif plays a top-notch filmmaker, Shahid will play Nawab Malik an Indian troop leader.

With just a few weeks for the film to release, the makers sent the film to the CBFC for certification and censorship. The CBFC suggested that few cuss words should be removed from the film before they certified it U/A. CBFC suggested that the makers of 'Rangoon' replace the cuss word 'chinal' (slut) with 'jhooti' (liar). As reported by a leading daily, the CBFC has suggested that derogatory terms for women be replaced. Interestingly, CBFC has allowed the usage of word 'bastard' if used in its literal sense.

What do you think about the CBFC's decision? Do you think the CBFC has become more liberal with its approach?
