Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev made history when he led his team to its grand victory during the 1983 ICC Cricket World Cup. Decades later, ace filmmaker Kabir Khan decided to recreate the iconic win on the silver screen by making a biopic based on Kapil Dev’s life.

While there were reports that the makers were considering ‘Mubarakan’ star Arjun Kapoor to play the former captain in the movie, recent reports suggest that Arjun's BFF Ranveer Singh has replaced him and has been finalised for the movie. Ranveer, in fact, is a huge cricket fan and was recently spotted at the Edgbaston stadium in Birmingham, watching the India Vs Pakistan match.

The film will be produced by Anurag Kashyap and will go on floors in 2018.
