The CBFC has passed filmmaker Onir’s upcoming movie 'Shab' without any visual cuts and few minor audio cuts. The movie has been given an ‘Adult’ certification, and as the CBFC is known to be prudish and conservative about sex scenes, Raveena is surprised that it got passed with no visual cuts.

Elated by this, filmmaker Onir said, “I am delighted that my film has been left untouched, and pleasantly surprised that the CBFC asked for no cuts. Of course, it’s an ‘Adult’ film with adult situation. So it’s been appropriately certified.” He further asserted, “I thought they’d ask for visual cuts, but they didn’t. Only a few negligible audio cuts that I am happily making because if the CBFC had not cut anything I’d have felt really insecure.”

The movie focuses on the sexual tension between a young struggler and an older socialite played by Raveena Tandon. “We have nothing aginst sex. We’ve passed Onir’s film without any cuts,” said CBFC Chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani. The movie also stars Arpita Chatterjee, Ashish Bisht, Simon Frenay, Gaurav Nanda and Areesz Ganddi, and is slated to release on June 30.
