It broke our hearts when we got to know that Irrfan Khan wasn't keeping well and that he had what was called, a NeuroEndocrine Tumour. The actor even took to social media to announce his condition at the moment and to thank all his fans for the love and support he was receiving. He also informed that he would be travelling abroad for treatment. Recent reports also suggested that the actor had sought to Ayurveda for treatment but Irrfan's spokesperson issued a statement on the same, rubbishing those rumours.

As per a leading entertainment portal, the actor, who is currently in London was consulting Vaidya Narayan Murthy for ayurvedic treatment. Reports suggested that he had contacted Vaidya Balendu Prakash who has also treated the likes of Steve Jobs for treatment. Dr Prakash told the portal that he has explained the seriousness of NET (NeuroEndocrine Tumour) to the star. However, Irrfan's spokesperson has released a statement stating that the doctor was using Irrfan's illness to promote himself!

“I have found him bold, and he was ready to undergo any kind of treatment. I have explained to him what Ayurveda can do in his case, or for that matter in the case of other cancer patients. I am sure by now he has got what we call conclusive diagnosis,” Dr Prakash had said. “We all want to believe in miracles, we all want to believe in the power of prayers. But we also must understand that there is something called science which is the basis of all treatment. I told him he must follow what his doctors in London have prescribed to him,” Dr Prakash had added. Dr Prakash also said that his treatment and cure will depend on whether the tumour is benign or malignant. “Everything depends on the affected body part and if the growth had spread to and affected other parts of the body,” he had continued saying. However, now, the spokesperson has rubbished all of this.

"As suggested by recent news reports, Mr Khan is not consulting with Vaidya Balendu Prakash. He at one point had contacted him but other than one phone call there has been no conversation or consultation whatsoever. It is unacceptable to be using someone’s illness for your own publicity and personal gain. Like Irrfan Khan’s previous statements, we all need to respect the space asked for and wait for him or his wife’s statement for any further update," the spokesperson’s statement read.

Well, all we wish for is that Irrfan comes back home, well and healthy. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery...
