Rishi Kapoor on Vinod Mehra: Another friend who went away too early

Actor Rishi Kapoor on Tuesday remembered his friend Vinod Mehra, who has acted in films like ‘Ginny Aur Johnny’ and ‘Naukar Biwi Ka’. The actor feels that Vinod Mehra went too early. On his 73rd birthday, the actor remembered his good friend. One film they got to work together but could not complete the film, ‘Guru Dev’. The film starred Anil Kapoor as Guru and Rishi Kapoor as Dev. Sridevi plays a double role as Guru and Dev's love interests named Sonia and Priya. Pran, Kader Khan, Laxmikant Berde and Kiran Kumar appear in supporting roles.


Rishi took to Twitter, he shared a photograph of Vinod Mehra and wrote, “Another friend who went away too early. We were good friends but we never worked together ever. When he turned director, I was one of his heroes but he couldn’t complete that film ‘Guru Dev’. Happy birthday Vinod. RIP!” Rishi wrote.


Vinod Mehra acted in 100 films from the 1970s. He died of a heart attack in 1990 at the age of 45. Vinod Mehra is known for films like ‘The Burning Train’, ‘Amar Prem’, ‘Ghar’, ‘Swarg Narak’, ‘Aag Hi Aag’, ‘Prem Pratigyaa’ and ‘Bemisal’.
