Saif Ali Khan to play SOLDIER in a film based on ‘Battle of Buxar’?

2017 may just prove to be Saif Ali Khan's year! The actor has four releases this year, while Saif starrer 'Rangoon' has already hit theatres, 'Chef' is slated to release in June, 'Kalakaandi' in September, and makers of 'Baazaar' are looking at a December release. Saif will be seen playing different characters in each of these films. While the actor plays a business tycoon in 'Baazaar', he will play a culinary expert in 'Chef'. Saif played an affluent filmmaker in 'Rangoon' and is going to portray the role of a doctor in Vipul Shah’s untitled medical drama.

According to reports, Saif's next with filmmaker Navdeep Singh will see the actor play a soldier. The film in question is an action drama based on the 'Battle of Buxar'. Saif is all set to play the role of Mirza Najaf Khan, the commander-in-chief of the Mughal Imperial Army.

To be produced by Aanand L Rai, the film is a period drama about the war that took place when the Nawabs of Bengal and Awadh, and Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II combined force to fight against the British East India Company.
