Sanjay Dutt Biopic: Tabu joins the star cast

The wait for Sanjay Dutt’s biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor has left fans counting days sitting on the edge of their seats. With a powerful story portrayed by an equally powerful cast which is being directed by the genius Rajkumar Hirani, the fans can’t wait to watch Dutt’s journey unfold on the silver screen.

And if this wasn’t enough, the makers have now given us another reason to strike off days on the calendar. ‘Haider’ actress Tabu, who is known for her naturalistic and fine style of acting, has been added to the movie’s cast. “Tabu will be seen presenting an award for the best actor in a comic role to Ranbir, who plays Dutt in the movie. In real life too, Sanjay had won the same award for ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ in 2004 and Tabu had presented the trophy to him back then. The same scene has been recreated for the film,” said an insider.

Not just this, Hirani’s quest for precision is so on point that he has decided that Tabu will deliver the same speech she did back in 2004 and wear the same outfit as well. “In fact, Tabu and Hirani got chatting and had lots to share from the past. Tabu also got nostalgic about how thrilled Dutt was with his win back then. Dutt and Tabu, who acted in ‘Sarhad Paar’ (2006) have always been good friends,” added the source.

The movie will hit the theatres on 30th March.
