Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently said that biopics in Bollywood are corrupted by commercial elements and that a person’s story should instead be shown as it is. Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni’s biopic was also termed as a 'hagiography' which intensified the debate that only the good and positive parts of a person’s character are depicted in movies based on their journey.

Now, with the much-awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic coming up, people started speculating that negative aspects like his drug addiction might not just be tweaked but might be completely omitted in the movie. However, as per recent reports, Ranbir is now headed to shoot the next schedule of the biopic in New York, in which he as Dutt will be shown fighting his severe drug addiction. It may be recalled that Sunil Dutt had sent his son to the US to clean up as well. So it seems like even the dark aspects of Dutt’s journey will make their way to the silver screen.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sanjay Dutt’ biopic will hit the theatres on 30th March 2018.
