'Kaabil' director, Sanjay Gupta opens up about Raees and Kaabil's inevitable box-office clash!
It is a known fact that Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' and Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil' are headed towards an Box-Office clash. According to the reports, SRK did meet with Hrithik to discuss the possibility of moving the release date of 'Kaabil' to avert the clash. However, the talks did not bear any results as both the parties refused to budge, and now both the films are all set to release on the Republic Day weekend.

In an interview, when asked the 'Kaabil' director, Sanjay Gupta regarding the clash, he said, "I wouldn't say I am in denial but I think the clash could still be averted. In all fairness, Rakeshji did announce the release date first. SRK is a man of principle, a man of his word, he is a Pathan. I can't fathom SRK stepping on someone's toes. I don't know if the films will come on the same day or not but I definitely think they shouldn't. If someone else had announced a film before him, there's no way in hell that Rakeshji would release his film on the same date. That is the respect that we need to accord one another..."

On being prodded further, he added, "Hrithik is 10 years younger than Shah Rukh, and not his competition. Both the films won't do more than a Rs 150-crore in a week because we have a Rs 300-crore BO window at the best. Shah Rukh should be looking at getting Rs 300 crore for his film, and I am sure that he is looking at the possibility. I don't understand why would he restrict the business of his own film. The clash is going to be detrimental to them."
