Bhansali to cast Shahid in his next post ‘Padmavati’?

It seems like Shahid Kapoor’s fierce dedication and commendable approach towards his craft has managed to impress one of the finest directors in the Indian film industry, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The duo is currently working on the upcoming magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ and while most of the buzz is around Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, it seems Shahid is all set to set the silver screen on fire as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.
A source close to the movie’s unit recently said, “Shahid is the surprise package in ‘Padmavati’. Everyone expects the focus to be on the dramatic conflict between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who play Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati, respectively. But Shahid has as much prominence in the script as his two co-stars.” He further talked about Shahid and Bhansali’s bonding on the sets and added, “Not just Shahid but also his wife Mira; SLB has warmed up to the couple. And he adores their little daughter (Misha). SLB is not one to seek friendship with his actors. But this time, he has let his guard down. Shahid came on board as the outsider among the three protagonists. Both, Ranveer and Deepika, had worked with SLB twice in the past. Shahid was apprehensive about the experience, but it worked out really well.”
This has just increased the anticipation around the movie by many folds. ‘Padmavati’ is scheduled to hit the theatres in February 2018.
