Shah Rukh Khan: If I didn’t get a National Award, then I didn’t deserve it!

Has not winning a National Award ever bothered the actor?
Though the crux of acting in a film is to entertain the audience, a little bit of appreciation here and there will cause no harm to the actors. And this is why award nights are a much-celebrated affair in the industry. A night filled with glitz and glamour as appreciation flows in abundance amidst the presence of industrywallas.

While winning an award is prestigious, there is nothing like receiving a National Award for a performance well done. And though Shah Rukh Khan has had a run of 25 years in the industry, he has never won a National Award. The actor has performed great at the box office with films like 'Chak De! India' and 'Swades', he may have even received praises for his acting in both the films but none of them could get him a National honour.

When King Khan was asked to comment on the same, he said, "If I didn’t get it, then I didn’t deserve it!"

Well, the man has quite a positive attitude towards his hits and misses. Two times when he was close to winning a National Award, once he lost out on it to Prakash Raj who's performance in Tamil film 'Kanchivaram' got him praises in abundance. And the second time when he was close to receiving an award for his acting in 'Swades', he lost out to Saif Ali Khan as the jury though Saif's acting in 'Hum Tum' deserve the award.

Disappointing much? But this has never really bothered the actor as he continues to work equally hard on all his films.
