Shah Rukh Khan on web series: I don't think I will venture into it just for the sake of doing it

The digital platform now makes for our go-to when it comes to binge-watching or anything else for that matter, right? And it comes as no surprise that our Bollywood celebrities including the likes of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Richa Chadha have joined in on the bandwagon on performing for those series. What about Shah Rukh Khan you ask? Well, while we'd love spotting King Khan on our tiny gadgets we might just have to wait a little while longer for that to happen. Here's why...

The actor himself said, "I have heard that Saif and Nawaz are doing a series, which is great, but I want to see how well Indian series do on the digital platform," he said before adding, "I want to take my own time to understand how the medium is working. The format is completely different and I don't think I will venture into it just for the sake of doing it".

A major video streaming giant just last year signed a deal with Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment to licence it's catalogue films globally. "They have been kind enough to bring some of my old as well new films including 'Raees', 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' and 'Ittefaq' on their platform," he said. And while he does believe that the digital platform will be a game-changer he says that the magic of the big screen will always remain. "In the near future, I'm sure films will start releasing digitally. But there will still be filmmakers who will continue bringing people to cinemas. I don't think people will stop going to theatres", he added.
