Shah Rukh Khan's next production to be based on 'Operation Khukri'

After Karan Johar produced a never seen or heard before the story of India's under the sea battle, 'The Ghazi Attack', it looks like Shah Rukh Khan is all set to follow the suit. Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan under his production banner, Red Chillies Entertainment is currently working on a script based on one of India's most successful missions, 'Operation Khukri'.

'Operation Khukri' carried out in Sierra Leone in 2000 was one of the most successful rescue operation carried out by the Indian Air Force. The mission was carried out in the forests of Kailahun, where the Indian Air Force managed to rescue 223 peacekeepers, who were captured by the Nigerian rebels, with no causalities save for a few shrapnel wounds.

Talking about the project, an insider source revealed, "It has been researched extensively and will be mounted on a really large scale. It will be a true depiction of a massive military operation and will celebrate our heroes. The director and cast are being finalised, the film will roll later this year." This project is also one of SRK's most ambitious and expensive projects to-date. Considering the costs involved, the source added, "It will be shot in real locations in Africa with some real armed combat battle scenes."

While the casting has not been confirmed, Shah Rukh, who has donned uniform many times since, will once again probably be seen doing the same.
