Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' has been making waves since the time the film was announced starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. While Deepika plays the titular role of Padmavati in the film, Shahid will play her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. And Ranveer will play the Turkic ruler Alauddin Khilji.

Owing to reports of a romantic scene between Ranveer and Deepika, the film had to face the brunt of many religious as well as political groups. Sanjay's team even cleared that the two will not have any scenes together and that there is no romance between the two in 'Padmavati'.

Interestingly, Shahid also recently in an interview hinted that he wants the romance between him and Deepika in 'Padmavati' to be the highlight of the film.

Shahid said, "Somehow, by default, in most actors’ careers – over the years – they are remembered by the love stories that they have done. They (love) break the barrier of time and audiences keep going back to them. I have been a part of a couple [of such films] and I hope my next film, 'Padmavati' also falls into that category. It definitely has the makings of being something like that."

Well, we wonder what Ranveer has to say about this!
