This is what Shahid Kapoor has to say to haters who have time and again criticised the actor and his wife Mira Rajput for early marriage and pregnancy
Shahid Kapoor's marriage to then 21-year-old Delhi-based Mira Rajput raised many eyebrows as Shahid was in his 30s when decided to tie the knot. Soon after Mira was pregnant, and Shahid received flak for not letting Mira make her own identity. The internet has bashed Shahid and Mira for not only the age difference between them but have gone out to say that Shahid took away every chance that Mira had to make herself a budding career.

However, Shahid and Mira remain undeterred by these detractors. Talking to a leading daily about the same, Shahid opines, "I don't give importance to people who try to get importance by criticising those who are important. Just because she [Mira] got married early, doesn't mean she doesn't have an identity. Today, women do what they feel like doing. And, as men, we should respect that. Whether you are a working woman, housewife, young mother or a woman who chooses to have a child at a later stage in life, it's your decision. Mira and I are really happy. I wish people could be happy for those who are."

Well said, Shahid! The actor and his wife made news with their appearance on the 'Koffee With Karan' couch, and their chemistry and banter left the audience in splits. With Shahid now, busy shooting for 'Padmavati', and will soon begin promoting 'Rangoon', the daily further asked how did he manage to spend time with daughter Misha. "There is no Mira-Shahid time now. All the time we have is Misha time. I'm loving this phase," adds Shahid before he signs off.
