Shahid to sport heels in ‘Padmavati’ to match Deepika’s height

Problems for ‘Padmavati’ is to not end soon, or not until the film finally releases. First, it was the cast of the film who locked horns over their roles, and then it was the leading pair of the film which was going through an apparent break-up. Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh - all have made efforts to come out and talk about the positivity in the film, but none could ignore the cold vibes the two leading men of the film share.

Many times Shahid and Ranveer have been questioned about their equation, but none has ever blatantly expressed their hatred even though the rumours of the two not getting along are ripe. And while we hear the cold war has ended, ‘Padmavati’ makers see themselves in a soup yet again. Apparently, Deepika and Shahid went for a look test of the film, and post that the makers are left in a tizzy. Deepika who plays the titular role Rani Padmini is taller than Shahid who is to play her husband Raja Ratan Singh.

A close source recently revealed, “Shahid, who joins Padmavati crew, is shorter than Deepika so the look tests between them are not working. Because they are playing king and queen, Bhansali needs to figure out a way to make them appear equal. At that time, kings were not shorter than their queens, and Rajput tradition is conservative, so there is no way that the director can work his way around the history.”

Now, this does seem to be a problem for the makers as they will have to make Shahid sports heels to match DP's height. But with so many issues around the film already, can we now please cut this long story short and say that the film will be next year's biggest release?
