While a lot has been said about SRK's meeting with Raj Thackeray, here is what BJP spokesperson, Shaina NC had to say about the meeting.
With the release date of 'Raees' coming closer, the excitement for the movie is at an all-time high! Alleged based on the life of bootlegger, Abul Latif, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani actress, Mahira Khan in the lead. Considering the fact that the film had a Pakistani actress in the lead, to ensure that it has a smooth release, SRK and producer, Ritesh Sidhwani met MNS chief Raj Thackeray at his residence on Sunday.

While a lot has been said about SRK's meeting with Raj Thackeray, here is what BJP spokesperson, Shaina NC had to say about the meeting. Shaina told a leading daily, "If a Pakistani artiste agreed to be part of a Hindi film contractually and he or she had the relevant papers to be in this country, I don’t think any element has the right to stop that artiste from coming to India.”

Shaina also said that she does not understand the need to get Mahira in India for promotions. The BJP spokesperson said, "The film can be marketed and promoted easily without Mahira. Why is there a need to even contemplate on her presence in India to promote the film when Shah Rukh Khan is the film’s hero? What did SRK hope to achieve by meeting Raj Thackeray? “I don’t know what assurances Shah Rukh has gone to give Raj Thackeray. Because it is not in Raj Thackeray and his party MNS’ hands to control Indian outrage against the Pakistan presence in India and Bollywood. This is a matter for the Indian government to handle. Why should Raj Thackeray be consulted about it?”

Point well made Shaina!
