It’s a new day which means there is more trouble for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha has always voiced his opinions. Shatrughan Sinha has supported the opposition to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’.

According to a source, Bihar unit of Sri Rajput Karni Sena has felicitated Shatrughan Shinha by presenting a photograph of queen Padmini, also referred to as ‘Padmavati’.

The whole film industry has been supporting Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the star cast of the film over the whole controversy surrounding the film, but the veteran actor has taken a different stand of the film citing the alleged distortion of historical facts. Apparently several BJP-ruled states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, have decided not to screen the film in theatres unless the makers go for changes as sought by groups like Karni Sena. But the Karni Sena said that it would not allow the film to release even if changes were made in the film.

Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi had said, "My party members and I are totally against the film Padmavati's release. Even after the changes, we will not allow it to hit the theatres. We will come out on the streets along with other social organisations and protest against it if it gets a release date.” The Rajput Karni Sena had even called for a Bharat Bandh on December 1st to protest against the controversial film over what it calls ''blatant distortion of facts'' by its makers. Several rewards were also announced for those who “behead” Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Shatrughan Sinha had also tweeted saying, “As ‘Padmavati’ becomes a burning controversy, people are asking why the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, most versatile Aamir Khan and most popular Shah Rukh Khan have no comments. And how come our I&B Minister or our most popular Honourable PM (according to PEW — American think tank PEW poll) are maintaining stoic silence. High time!”

“I’d like to say it’s too late for our dynamic Prime Minister and the other high command to stay silent. ‘Padmavati’ is a raging issue. And the fringe elements are openly issuing threats. How can the high command keep quiet when goons are threatening to behead Bhansali and Deepika Padukone? It’s time for our honourable Prime Minister to say ‘enough is enough’. If you give the goons a free reign, they will continue to cross limits in ways we wouldn’t be able to control,” he said.

The release of ‘Padmavati’ has been postponed as the filmmakers are yet to secure a censor certificate. But the initial release date was December 1st.
