Shivarama Bhandary’s Story of Rags to Riches

From earning Rs.30/- per month as barber to owning 20 modern salons, Shivarama Bhandary’s life stands testimony to the proverbial rags to riches Story. The man behind Shiva’s Salon was recently awarded at the Times Power Men 2018 as Grooming Expert of the Year at the hands of the vivacious Dia Mirza.

After a brief stint in Qatar as a barber, Shiva returned to India in 1988 and started a salon in Thane. By procuring second-hand furniture at an affordable cost, he worked there alone for the first 50 days!!! Today, the man has over 20 outlets in Mumbai with over 300 employees, all under Shiva Hair Designers Private Ltd.

Shiva's has recently forayed into the beauty segment by making their own line of products under the brand name Shiva's Trends. Infused with herbs and natural ingredients the range of products include shampoo, hair conditioner, skin tonic, massage cream, facial pack, scrub gel and massage gel to name a few.
