Shoojit Sircar: Deepika is my sweetheart, as is Irrfan Khan

Shoojit Sircar directed Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in 'Piku' and what a hit that was, right? So, it goes without saying that if these three collaborate yet again, the next one is bound to be a success too. At least, we hope it will be! And apparently, Deepika even shares a very close bond with Shoojit. Shoojit is currently ready with his new film, 'October' starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu. At the trailer launch of the film, Shoojit had said that Varun is becoming his 'jigar ka tukda' (a piece of his heart). Deepika was quite amused with it and posted ‘accha!!’ on her social media account. Shoojit had then responded by saying that he and Varun only spoke about Deepika during the film’s shoot and Deepika had posted, ‘proof chahiye dada...proof’ (I want to proof).

Shoojit reacted to Deepika’s response on social media in an interview with a leading daily and said, “Deepika is my sweetheart, as is Irrfan (Khan). Yes, she has certain expectations from me and both Juhi and I are working on something with her in mind.” In a recent interview, Shoojit Sircar had revealed, “Deepika is one of my favourites. Whenever my writers and I talk, we always think, ‘what can we do with Deepika’ because I’m so fond of her. It was a brilliant experience working with her. Frankly, while working on 'Piku', I saw the real actress and real creativity in her; and what she is as a soul. My revelation was that she is a simple, girl-next-door soul, despite having done many other films and potboilers. Now, I am working on and thinking about something wherein Deepika and I can work together. So, we’ll soon chat about it.”
