After making remarkable movies like ‘Piku’ and ‘Madras Café’ filmmaker Shoojit Sircar is all prepped up for ‘October’. The filmmaker expressed that the film is his take on love. The film is also a difficult one like the other ones. “‘October’ is my take on love, this is the real love I believe in and I have experienced in life. The film has little experiences from my life and from what Juhi (Chaturvedi) has written. This was a difficult film like ‘Piku’ and ‘Madras Café’. I do not select stories thinking anything specific, I just go by what I like, what comes to my mind.”

Talking about casting Varun Dhawan in the film the filmmaker said, “There are certain potentials that I like to tap as a director in actors. I tried that with Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Piku’ and Taapsee Pannu in ‘Pink’. He (Varun) is hungry and ready to surrender and when you find that in an actor, what else do you want. I do not want anybody to do a favour on me, I want someone to come and jump in and say let’s do it.”

He further added, “‘Piku’ was like everyday affair, when people saw the film, they were like this happens with us every day. In this film, love is shown through my eyes. What we do not notice about love in life is what I have tried to show.”

Varun Dhawan tweeted, "A movie very close to my heart #October. Here’s the October feeler #ValentinesWithOctober @ShoojitSircar @BanitaSandhu @ronnielahiri.”

Shoojit Sircar said earlier, "It is a genre that I have always wanted to delve in. While love and romance have been entwined with Indian cinema, there is abundance in that emotion that everyone can have their own interpretations of. Juhi Chaturvedi and I have always tried to create stories from the reflections of real-life moments that we see around us. October is another effort to explore those moments out of simple situations of life."

Varun Dhawan had said, "I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da's work and have always wanted to work with him. October is a beautiful story in which I play a character with many layers. It's a difficult character to play. I just want to surrender to my part and show people a new side of me. Shoojit da, Ronnie and Juhi have always made good cinema I feel I feel grateful to join their team."
