Shraddha Kapoor puts up positive self-image post, gets trolled on Twitter

Bollywood celebrities have always been body shamed on several occassions. From Vidya Balan to Sonam Kapoor several actresses have also come forward and voiced their opinion on body positivity time and again. It’s quite refreshing that the current set of actresses does not promote the idea of perfect body and they also encourage women to be real instead. There are many celebrities who choose their endorsement deals carefully, perhaps to avoid appearing in ads for things their public image is incompatible with.

Shraddha recently posted a picture of Marilyn Monrne. In the picture, Marilyn is lounging at the beach in a swimsuit. Her belly rolls are evident in the shot, and even her upper arm-fat. Below the picture is a caption which talks about appreciating and normalising this and telling women to be carefree about their body size. Shraddha had posted this picture without any caption, But it didn’t go down too well with a lot of others, particularly because the actress endorses a product that promotes weight loss. ‘Chupaane ki jagah belly fat ghataane ki aadat daalo’ is the line her commercial ends with. While many appreciated Shraddha for posting the picture, including Huma Qureshi.
