As per sources Sohail has registered two titles one is ‘Carry On Partner’ and ‘Partner 2’, "The original film was well accepted. It revived Govinda’s career. Previous plans for creating the sequel were dropped after the makers felt the story lacked heft. Then, the actors were occupied with other assignments. There were also reports of a fall-out between Salman and Govinda. But that is a thing of the past now."

The source also added, "Salman and Sohail wanted Govinda and Salman’s characters to be better crafted. Salman may reprise his role of a love guru."

Govinda cleared all the rumours about Salman and his fight, "Why will I not work with him? We don’t have any issues with each other. My daughter, Narmada, works out in the gym with Sohail. She talks to me about him often."

But when Sohail Khan was asked about the ‘Partner’ sequel he said, "I'm not making the film right now."
