Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar recently made a statement at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi stating that homosexuality is a tendency that may change later. Now trust Sonam Kapoor to stay quiet on the matter, right? Well, if the past is in any indication, Sonam was bound to react to this absurd statement made by the God-man.

Reportedly a student from the university asked the spiritual leader how he should handle the way his friends and family treat him for his sexual orientation. To this, Ravi Shankar said, "You don't think you are sick or something is wrong with you. If you stand up, nobody can insult you, but...if you feel bad about yourself, nobody can make you feel better.” He added, "This is your tendency now...know that this tendency is not a permanent thing. It may change. I've seen many men who were gay later turn into heterosexuals, and there are those who are normal, who are called straight people, end up being gay later in life."

Sonam who has always been vocal about issues tweeted her opinions regarding what Ravi Shankar had to say. And her tweets read:

Following Sonam, Alia too tweeted on the matter. Her tweet read:

Sonam has always proven that she is a tough one to beat and the actress makes sure to voice her opinions on things that matter.
