Sonu Nigam shames trolls, goes bald

Sonu Nigam, who faced severe backlash and criticism for his 'azaan' tweets during his recent press conference clarified that his tweet was against the use of loudspeakers and not religion. During the press interaction, Sonu revealed that he raised the issue as a social, and not a religious one. The 'Kal Ho Na Ho' singer also apologised saying that he never meant it otherwise.

“I am a secular person. It was not about azaan, it was about the loud sound. Playing loud sound on a speaker is gundagardi for me. What is happening to the country? Anyone can lynch anyone or anyone can issue a fatwa. I’m not talking about any single religion.” he added.

He further said, "Everyone has a right to an opinion. You have to be considerate. In the end, I just want to say that come above these small little controversies and try understanding the bigger picture."

When he was asked why did he only target 'Azaan' and not include other religions in his tweets, he said, "I didn't target any particular religion. I am not saying that Azaan or bhajans should not happen, I want to say that loudspeakers should not be played during wee hours of the day. Azaan is important, not loudspeakers!"

Talking about his open challenge to the Maulvi, he said, "I am not challenging Maulvi, there is no animosity. I am just interpreting the 'Fatwa' issued against me in a very subtle manner."

Concluding the press conference he signed off saying, "I didn't know such a simple thing would have been made do big. I have considered Mohammad Rafi as guru, my driver is a Muslim. I'm not anti-Muslim. I consider myself secular."

The singer in presence of media got his hair shaved off by his long-term friend and hairstylist, Aalim Hakim.
