In a tragic turn of events, South Korean K-pop singer Goo Hara was found dead in her home in Seoul on Sunday. She was a former member of the country's top K-Pop group Kara with whom she had made a debut in 2008. The group had gone on to enjoy much sensational popularity for almost a decade after which it went on a hiatus.

The singer had then also put her career on hold after she became caught up in some revenge pornography case with her ex-boyfriend. Her ex had apparently threatened to release an intimate video of her post which she had also threatened to take him to court. He was even given a suspended jail term post the threat.

Six months ago, the singer had been found unconscious in her house. The media had then reported that she had tried to commit suicide but was unsuccessful. On Sunday, the 28-year-old was found dead by an acquaintance at around 6 pm (local time), as reported by the police and a local media agency. While her cause of death is still unknown, the police are also considering the possibility of suicide given her history. Stay tuned for more updates.
